From March 6 to July 18, the Lions FC forward scored in 17 consecutive appearances. He struck 31 times during the run and finished 2026 with 32 goals in 19 appearances.
HOW IT STARTED
Fiechtner opened his NPL Queensland season with a goal against Olympic, then was held scoreless in a 2–2 draw with Gold Coast Knights in Round 2. That was the last appearance of his season without a goal.
The streak began away to Rochedale Rovers on March 6. He scored in a 3–1 Lions win, then backed it up with two against Eastern Suburbs and a hat-trick against Magic United. From there, every appearance through July 18 included his name on the scoresheet.
It was not just a run of single goals either. Across the 17 appearances he produced four braces, three hat-tricks and one five-goal game. Eight of the 17 matches were multi-goal performances.

THE SHAPE OF THE RUN
Seventeen scoring appearances does not mean seventeen goals. Fiechtner almost doubled that total.
THE BIGGEST NIGHTS
The peak was a five-goal performance away to Magic United — including four inside the opening 23 minutes.

HOW MUCH OF THE ATTACK?
The run was individual, but it sat inside a dominant stretch for the eventual NPL champions.
Fiechtner scored 31 of Lions FC's 47 goals across the 17 appearances in the streak.
Across the entire NPL season, Fiechtner supplied 32 of Lions' 57 league goals.
Only one of his 32 season goals came outside the 17-appearance scoring run.

STATEWIDE CONTEXT
Using the strict exact-appearance reliability filter, the next-longest scoring streaks in the validated men's database were eight appearances.
Appearance streaks only make sense when the appearance record itself is reliable. The comparison above therefore excludes player-season rows where appearance reliability is not exact.
THE NPL GAP
Fiechtner finished on 32 league goals. Moreton City Excelsior's Marquez Walters was next on 22, leaving a 10-goal gap between first and second. The next group sat on 13.

WHY THE STREAK STANDS OUT
Some scoring streaks are built inside a run of comfortable wins. This one was broader. Fiechtner scored in a draw with Brisbane City, twice in a 3–2 loss to Peninsula Power and again in the 2–1 defeat at Gold Coast Knights.
At the other end of the spectrum, he scored five in a 5–3 win at Magic United and three in separate clean-sheet wins over Magic, Wynnum and Brisbane City. The streak survived changes in opponent, score state and match context.
Most importantly, the run did not end with a goalless appearance. Fiechtner scored against Gold Coast United on July 18 in his final recorded appearance of the campaign. In other words, from Round 3 to his last appearance of 2026, every time he played, he scored.
Method: the streak is based on consecutive eligible player appearances ordered by match date, not simply consecutive Lions fixtures. Statewide streak comparisons use only players whose season appearance reliability is marked exact. Goal and minute figures come from the validated 2026 Low Block database.
31 GOALS · 17 STRAIGHT APPEARANCES
Alexander Fiechtner's 2026 season was already a Golden Boot campaign. The 17-game streak is what made it extraordinary.
