Across 7,083 reliably timed goals, the closer a match gets to full-time, the more dangerous it becomes.
THE PATTERN
Queensland football does not spread its goals evenly across 90 minutes. The opening quarter-hour is the quietest period in the dataset, while the final 15 minutes are comfortably the busiest.
That makes the clock itself part of the story. As matches move deeper into the second half, the scoring rate rises — and for some clubs, late goals have become a defining part of their attack.
THE GOAL PULSE
The increase is not perfectly linear, but the overall direction is clear. The match becomes more productive as it progresses, with the biggest jump arriving in the final quarter-hour.
THE HOT MINUTES
45' and 90' are excluded because the source can fold stoppage-time goals into those values.
Three of the four busiest normal regulation minutes sit in the final 20 minutes, reinforcing the broader late-game trend.

Nerimbera stand out on both measures: equal-second for raw late-goal volume and first for late-goal share among teams with at least 40 reliably timed goals. Logan Roos, Peninsula Power, Moreton City and Grange Thistle also have more than 30% of their timed goals arriving after the 75th minute.

THE NPL LATE-GOAL DUO

NPL Queensland as a whole sits second statewide for late scoring, with 23.4% of timed goals arriving from 76–90.
THE LATE INDEX
FQPL 1 is the only competition in the analysis where more than a quarter of reliably timed goals have arrived in the final 15 minutes.
